Emergency Room Veterinarian

 

CARE Veterinary Center is seeking an Emergency Room Veterinarian to join our thriving practice. We’re a 24/7, 365 day a year facility with board certified specialists in internal medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, ophthalmology and a bustling emergency department. Founded in 2010, CARE has developed a regional reputation for excellence in specialty and emergency care for pets; under one private ownership group. With an exceptional team of doctors, highly skilled technical staff and positive relationships with our referring veterinarians, CARE has seen tremendous growth in just over six years. CARE offers pets and their families the most progressive treatment options available in a fully equipped facility.

 

Acting in partnership with primary care veterinarians, CARE receives patient referrals from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, which garners a robust and diverse caseload. Collaboration is key and we are looking for a ER Doctor who is eager to enthusiastically interact with their colleagues and contribute in continuing to grow our services. A successful candidate will possess strong medical, teamwork, communication and organizational skills and will be invested in building and nurturing relationships with our referring veterinarians. In addition, this candidate will be able to provide leadership, staff development and accountability in accordance with policies and procedures. We are seeking applicants with an incredible balance of excellent interpersonal skills, medical knowledge and skill set.

Veterinary Technicians

Seeking Pawesome Veterinary Technicians in Emergency

This is a fast-paced, highly technical position in our busy emergency department. Applicants must be able to perform treatments noted on treatment charts and in medical records, monitor intensive care patients, provide nursing care, take and process x-rays, monitor anesthesia, conduct lab tests and prepare and submit lab samples. Qualified applicants have the ability to communicate well with clients, showing care and concern for their pets. Previous experience and RVT is a huge plus. We will train the right candidate who has some veterinary technician experience.
 
Seeking Pawesome Veterinary Technician with Background in Surgery

Seeking an experienced veterinary technician with a background in surgery to join our growing practice. The successful candidate will work in a fast paced environment and be expected to be familiar with surgery room set-up, managing cases, monitoring anesthesia and scrubbing in for surgery. Essential duties include familiarity with patient anesthesia, drug dosage calculation and administration, laboratory diagnostics, and management of critically ill patients.

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a surgery. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as multi-tasking ability. Must be organized, honest, reliable, flexible, independent and have the proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. Must be available for day shift hours, on call work and occasional Saturday and Sunday 8am-10am.

Emergency Department Lead Technician

Seeking an experienced veterinary technician with leadership experience and a background in emergency veterinarian medicine to join our growing practice. Must be a dynamic individual with ability to lead a group of 15 to 20 Emergency Room veterinary technicians.

 

The emergency department lead will serve as a mentor, a technician/assistant advocate, and patient nurse. This position will aid the emergency department head in achieving greater efficiency. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills required. Must be organized, honest, reliable, flexible, independent and have the proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment. A minimum of two years’ experience in a technician position is required (preferably in the ER).

 

Essential technician duties include: managing case flow of patients presenting to the ER and assisting technicians in creating a priority of the patients, drug dosage calculation and administration, laboratory diagnostics, and management of critically ill patients. Essential leadership duties include: supervising technicians and assistants in our 24/7 ER department, acting as the point person for department team members, coaching employees on performance issues, and encouraging teamwork through communication.
